I don't think you need to euthanize her, but if she continues to lose weight you will have to address that at some point. I am not comfortable suggesting the use of any drugs if the infection is actually in the joints.

I just wanted to say that I understand what you mean by being uncomfortable about recommending a treatment. I really appreciate you letting me know how serious Honey's condition is. I know that most ailments will respond to different types of care and/or medications, but not everything is so cut and dry. I am grateful to you for giving so much of yourself to help so many. You're truly a lifesaver. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I did find a vet that treats ducks online. She suggested amtyl, but I haven't had any luck finding it from a place that can ship it quickly.

Edited to clarify: I found an avian vet online. She treats ducks and spoke with me last night.

This is what she always suggests anytime she sees this in her clients and she said she's seen this numerous times. The amtyl is amoxicillin and tylosin from what I've learned. The link you posted is the one place I'm able to find it but they're closed throughout the weekend. I'll order it first thing Monday morning. Until it gets here I am using Clavamox and then Amoxicillin. She suggested enchancia before I told her about the antibiotics. I hope it works. I'm going to mix in purina All Flock with her duck feed in hoped to get more calories in her

Honey has a good appetite today. I was able to get the pill in her by myself, so I am so thrilled about that. I won't have help to give her meds next week, so I've got to do it. I hate to hold her through her fighting me, but it's for her own good and basically could be life or death, if I can't overcome my fear of hurting her.
