Duck Pond [FINISHED]

Hi! Sorry I didn’t see this until now. I run it 24x7 and I haven’t tried it in freezing temps yet. I’ll probably either get the throw in heater and leave the pump going or just pull it up if we get a stretch of freezing temps. Unless you all have some better ideas! Sounds like we’ll be figuring this out together this winter

How long have you had this pump? It works and keeps the water clean?

One more question(sorry)

How tall is the pump?

I have 2 of them. I used one in their ‘tub’ in their run since May. It’s a 70 gallon stock tank - 6ft long, 2 ft wide, 1ft deep. The other is in my pond where I also use a skimmer. The skimmer did nothing for the water quality. The pond is 10ft wide, 20 ft long and varying depths to 18-20 inches. The pump and UV do keep the water clean but you will have to clean the filter at least once a week depending on pond size and number of ducks. I only clean mine once a week and I have 4 ducks. The pump box is about 6 inches tall and the fountain head has attachments that go up probably to 2 ft. I’ll take some pics for you when the sun comes up. @NoahSully is it still keeping your water clean?

Ok editing to include before and after pics. Before nasty green murky water. After I can see the bottom.

I only have two ducks and my filter sometimes needs two cleanings per week. My pond is about 800 gallons. I guess I just have messy ducks
But I haven't added much of the pond zyme stuff in yet.

Do you have any plants or algae on the sides yet? That helps with water quality too. The only plants I’ve been able to keep are lizards tail - the ducks eat everything else. Little buggers!
