Duck suddenly died while I was at work.

Where did you purchase your duck from? I've heard of a lot of people in ny area whose ducklings that were purchased from our TSC around Easter time have died for no reason whatsoever. My neighbor purchased the last 8 ducklings that they had marked down for $10 total. She informed me yesterday that all but 1 have died. They have been kept indoors in a normal manner. She's an experience duck and chicken owner so she knows exactly what she's doing.

Mine came from a hatchery and I lost two. They said shipping stress.

Yes it is. And they were already a couple of weeks old so definitely not shipping stress. They had been quarenteened from the rest of the flock the entire time she had them. They were all perfectly fine and within a few days they had all died.

My ducks got really quiet and weird one day like they'd seen a ghost. I think a raccoon or other predator was outside their run casing the place. I'd check your deceased duck for wounds.
Sorry for your loss, I'd be devastated if one of mine was killed.
