2. This duck is notorious for laying soft shelled eggs! Once and a while she'll lay normal eggs, but I've seen her lay those for sure.

The symptoms you are seeing fit with this. It's quite possible that she has a stuck soft-shelled egg that she's trying to pass. Laying softies is very hard on them. Can you go buy some human calcium citrate pills or liquid calcium gluconate for cattle? Either one would be fine. Let me know which one you get and I'll let you know how much to give, then fill your bath tub with about 6 inches of warm water and put her in it? If she has a stuck softie this will help her pass it.

Parasites can rob the bird from essential nutrients needed for egg laying, so I still think that de-worming her might be useful.

Panting while swimming or being held is not normal, and does seem to indicated that the problem is in the abdominal cavity, not the trachea.

Does her belly feel like it's fuller than the other ducks? and by belly I mean the soft fluffy area a couple of inches below her tail? Next time you hold her, gently apply pressure to this area and see if her breathing worsens.
