Duck with Swollen Ankle

So today she didn't get out of the coop, but she is using her good foot a little more. She's in the kitchen sink right now for her soak and is busy taking a bath; which I take as a good sign. Had to cover up all the dishes though :D The swelling is now very firm, hardly squishy at all @casportpony I wonder if that has anything to do with the salve I applied yesterday?
it could have but we can't say for sure. I don't think it will hurt to observe this method over the next couple of days.

I have a pekin who I am dealing with swollen, infected joints in both legs (diagnosed just yesterday by a vet) (and not due to bumblefoot) - a month and a half prior to this I tried to self diagnose and home remedy. For anti-inflammatory you can give children's liquid advil (ibuprofen) by mouth, 1.5 ml twice a day I believe. But you have to be sure you don't squirt the liquid down the duck's esophagus. I have a homeopathic anti-inflammatory/pain relief gel which I used for quite some time which did seem to help my boy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IE7DOU/?tag=backy-20 this was suggested by some good people on BYC. I have also heard that the Cottonwood Salve in the Backyard Herbal Apothecary book has helped another's duck with arthritis. I am going to be making that myself this week so I don't have firsthand experience with this.
I know you mentioned you eat the eggs so you didn't want to medicate but if you want your duck to be well - you may have to just forego the eggs for a while. The price you pay.

Today there's a little more progress I say. When I put her in the sink she ended up paddling herself backwards but she was using her "good" foot so at least I know she can use that foot. She flew out of my hands twice (onto the concrete floor which scared me so much) but she stood up a little to flap her wings. Still doesn't move around though; I put water and food beside her and just moved her around a few times. She ate a lot of corn while soaking; don't know how much of the pellets she ate - not much though.

I do love my ducks but a vet is just not something I could do, and I'm sure you all understand. What did your vet prescribe? Do you think you could possibly post a picture?

I completely understand not being able to take your duck to a vet whether it be no access to an avian vet or a monetary issue bc let me tell you it was not cheap. I was not suggesting you take yours in simply sharing my recent story. Our situations differ a bit because my duck did not have bumblefoot. Simply bad infection with cause unknown. Which I guess ultimately is the same regardless of cause. We got prescription antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds he’s getting 2x a day now for the next 2 weeks.

So she's inside for her soak for today. I can hear her breathe; it's not labored or very loud, it's like she hasn't cleared out her nares. However, there is nothing in her nares, I can see straight through.

Do you think that she might have some respiratory disease? I will admit that there coop is not the cleanest or biggest. It's been super hot out so I haven't been able to turn like I usually do, but at the same time I don't think there would be any mold or moisture growing in this sun. Any way as a precaution I'll change out there bedding today; let me know what you think. I've read that some respiratory diseases can cause lameness as well. I sure hope she recovers soon.

I'll upload a video of her breathing as well as a picture of her feet in 15 minutes or so.
