Im very emotional right not and cant think straight I'm not sure what to do...
Late last year I ordered 10 ducklings from a hatchery w/ a "life insurance" thing. They all died. They implied I just wasn't taking care of them properly which is very fair I don't blame them because ALL OF THEM DIED. Before the new ones got shipped I obviously went to find out why these ones died, it was lead in our water (thanks city for telling us). I make sure all the water is fine before these new guys, everything looks good, they arrive.
One arrives weak from a seemingly rough trip, it dies after 3 days, I've been doing everything I can I was even sleeping by them to make sure I got her to water if she couldn't get up. Well now a SECOND ONE has died seemingly from being trampled... I'm just not sure what to say to the hatchery.. is it normal to lose 2 so quick??? My bf is saying just tell them bc I rebought the insurance (I really shouldn't have bc now I'm just really anxious). I've raised quail and chickens before with such great success, and even some ducklings before both these batches. I'm pretty sure I couldnt have avoided these deaths but maybe it is my fault?? I feel like I just shouldn't say anything but I did spend money in case anything happened...
What would y'all consider unavoidable or normal when it comes to duckling deaths? I've heard they don't die as easily as chicks but 2/10 would be a high amount even for chicken chicks...

Extra info: 2nd baby got trampled at 8 days old, I know it was a trampling because she was very healthy last time I saw her but she was a pancake when I got home ._.

*Nothing against this hatchery at all, they shipped them well and the ones who are still alive and the last ones I had are very healthy

Sorry for poor formatting and grammar

I’m so sorry for your loss. I would contact them and explain just like you did to us. I ordered 4 Runner ducklings in 2019 no insurance was available picked them up from the PO as soon as they arrived 3 days later 2 died Hatchery said shipping stress. But because it was 3 days they weren’t obligated to resend. If you paid for insurance you should contact them. I decided to never order from a hatchery again to heartbreaking so I feel your pain. One question how big is your brooder.
