I don't know. I'm not surprised the lowest ranking one is doing it; my lowest ranking chicken always caused the most trouble, but she doesn't bother the ducks ..... they bother the chickens! Hope they start getting along soon!I haven't hijacked Banti's thread in a long time, but shes so sweet about us going off topic that I cant resist.
Question; Any of you duck & chicken people ever had one of your hens picking on your duck. This just started here about a week ago & happens about once a day. Weird thing is that its my lowest ranking, most timid chicken that's causing all the fuss. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY messes with my beloved Mako Mori & gets away with it. I'm a vegetarian & these are my kids pets so I cant send Little Miss Trouble Maker off to Freezer Camp or give her away, but shes gotten a flip flop in the butt a few times, has been put in a time out a few times & has lost some snack privileges. My crazy menagerie of critters usually gets along really well... Keep your fingers crossed for me that this all blows over soon.
I believe 15-18% is best, but I think you can give them a little higher, just watch out for leg and wing problems - 'least that's according to to Storey's book on ducks.
Co-ol! Not sure about the weight problem.I got some new ducks from Craigslist today!! I got a Buff hen and a Campbell hen. They are both 1 years old and laying. The Buff is molting that's why she doesn't look good. She also is really small. Any ideas how to restore her normally weight?

You're so welcome. I know exactly what you mean; I only have one Khaki now, but the noise was deafening back when there were two.The Buff was loud, too!
