Duckling lost feathers and skin from head injury, bone exposed

I used it once on a youngster getting it's flight feathers in and had pecked a pinfeather raw. THEN read that it shouldn't be used on wounds.

Talk about being worse than a hen with one chick. I wrung my hands for days worried that I'd done something to hurt the baby. The nurse in me thought, well, the pin feather is irritating it so the pain relief might help the irritation.

Seemed logical anyway. Next time I have a chicken with a wound I'll try it.
