Honking? yep, means girls.

They can be quite the chatty things, but in Mallard derived ducks voice is usually your first indicator of sex, by about as young as 5-6wks..

Oh yayyyy they are around 4 weeks and every once in a while let out a raspy honk :)) think my big guy might be a boy cause he is around 7 weeks and still making peeping sounds..

Wow... I was worried because I just suddenly heard several honking noises. Thought my baby was sick. Went back to normal tho. So that means she's a girl? But... my ducklings are younger... between 2-3 weeks.

I have two groups a week apart. My older 4 are 2 Pekins and 2 KC, I have 2 in that group that just started honking and they are between 2 and 3 weeks.

Great thanks. Have another question.... (or many) how many times do we put the yeast into their food. I am currently refilling their food cup several times a day. I have to get a bigger one tomorrow now that their appetite has quadrupled. But I didnt want to overdose them. Thanks
