Duckling shaking, having a tough time walking?

You might also look at research for constant tremors in humans. And see what the treatment and prognosis is. Sometimes it can translate to other animals as well.

If it were mine I would weigh it, then give it a more precise dose of the b complex, some vitamin e, and maybe a tiny bit of selenium, but I would need to know it weight first.

:goodpost:

Sometimes neurological issues are caused by vitamin deficiencies, so if it were mine I would do the same thing and continue treating it as a deficiency and see if there is any improvement.

@casportpony

Sorry it took so long I had to work 12 hours today but I’m finally home and got to weigh my little Spazz. 1.03 lbs or 16.48 oz.

If it is neurological, I found this study that looked at two ducks with hereditary tremors. One drake with a quite pronounced tremor that affected his balance, and one female who had pronounced tremors but improved with age.

Seeing as your little one can swim & scratch (just quite poor at walking) it seems their prognosis would be hopeful? It might improve with time.

she is just the cutest little thing! What a good duck to sit so still for the scale!:love

I know!
I’m trying, or tried, so hard not to get attached because I’m still no sure what will happen to her/him...

But I fell so hard for this little duck, (and her friend Tazz).

Spazz is still kinda fearful, even after all this. I think because she can’t run away so I’m sure that scares it some.

But her buddy Tazz has become so friendly the last two days. To the point where it comes up for pets and to play.

I also have 4 mallards and 7 chicks (started with 5 Barred rocks and was given 2 Asians because they aren’t doing super good) they are all much smaller.

I’ve learned a lot about ducks this month :)

Thanks! That is very interesting!
I’m going to dig around and see if I can find anything else.
