I have cipro, doxy and cephalexin on hand but if a different kind is suggested I will get something else.

They were shredded and floppy so I had to pull them so they would molt in. His tail looks good now

Nope, just other roosters.
No predators have challenged him yet. (Mostly, they are weak, cowardly falcons. They got my ducks though.)

I am sorry to hear about your ducks. We've been seeing an Eagle down below our home flying along the river but thankfully not up here. I did lose an OEGB roo to a hawk about a month ago.
