Let's give WV time to respond. She is far more experienced with ducks than I am. They can take up to 48 hours to start unzipping And they sleep a lot after that first pip.

Is it a good pip? Just a single one, it hasn’t made another pip too? Sometimes they make multiple pips before zipping.
And what breed, I think I missed it, sorry.
