The broody duck spends a lot of time off her nest, she was off for 5 hours today :hmm.
The eggs are probably all dead.
Wonder if I should let her sit and try have her adopt the two, day old aylesbury ducklings I’m picking up next Saturday or just destroy her nest. What do you guys think ? :)
Where are you getting the aylesbury I WANT THEM SOO BAD

Do you have any ideas who/where the BBs are coming from?
Yes. I bred a white with a blue fawn once and all of my ducks are descended from the miracle offspring of this pet quality pair.
(Miracle because all hatched white. Jk. Miracle because the hen disappeared while we were on a trip and all we had were the six eggs and the drake and a broody Dominique and a cheap foam incubator that didn't work. And we had never successfully hatched eggs of any kind before. So I begrudgingly handed them to the Dominique, trusting her more than the rubbish incubator and myself. Then I stopped trusting her because she left the nest for an hour and I panicked even though that's normal and stole all the eggs and put them in the incubator that had been running the whole time in case this might happen. And they hatched (they only had a week or two left) the only eggs that ever hatched out of there that weren't severely deformed and 5 out of 6 actually hatched, though one died.
Yes. That actually happened. That's how I proved myself as a breeder and hatched my first chicks/ducks ever.

So my take on this is literally don't give up and the Call breeders should stop complaining about hatching problems :p because my first ever eggs -Calls, no less- hatched with those odds.
