At least, when it comes to how the brooder smells.
I haven't started sniffing my chickens. YET.

The duck poop smell in the brooder does not bother me. It’s just stronger than I remember and I am blaming the feed. Chickens, on the other hand , get to me. Each person is different.

True. What smells the worst for me is turkey poop because they eat a lot of grass. But you don't smell that until they get old enough to go outside.

My daughter has 2 Appenzeller Spitzhauben that think they are ducks. Someone local breeds them and they have grown up with our ducks. They follow the ducklings everywhere, sleep next to them, cry when the ducks leave them behind and occasionally jump in the pool for a swim. Had to rescue them a couple times when they were smaller- they don’t float like ducks ‍

Which one? We have a crested yellow duckling, no big feathers coming in yet and 2 of the cayugas are crested. One of the crested cayugas, Aflac, has a huge feather growing out sideways from his crest.
