My babies!!! Hubbys co worker raises Pekins. He gave us 6 eggs and his hovabator. I had also gotten 6 Guinea eggs locally too. Well we had 3 ducks hatch and one lone Guinea keet. The keet hatched in my 4 year old (bird obsessed? Daughters hand. “I’m a real bird mom!!”
I’m in the process of trying to find a few more keets locally to keep Carmine company. He does tell everyone when to eat and when to head back to the Brinsea.
Here they are. Sprout(pink food dye on head) Greta(male pattern baldness:lau) and Agnes are the ducks names. They are adorable and filthy!!! My first ducks. I have 18 chickens currently. We have a 3/4 acre spring fed pond that has been crying out for ducks since we bought our house.

Sprout was first and helped and encouraged everyone else. This was bed time when just sprout and Greta has hatched. Sprout snuggled on top:love

So adorable! :love Have fun with your new little babies! :)

I have been very busy so I haven't been able to post about it, but on Tuesday, June 16th, 2 of my broody Muscovy hens hatched 23 adorable ducklings! I'll have to get pics of them one of these days if I get a chance.

Another one of my broody hens that already hatched a clutch year is broody again, too! I think she has somewhere around 16 or 17 eggs if I remember right.
I keep telling her that she should start sitting on the eggs full time and stop laying more, because I know she can only cover so many, (as if ducks understand English)! :gig
I kinda think she started sitting full time today, so we'll see. Hopefully she is!

Happy duck raising and hatching to all of you!
Have a blessed weekend! :)
