Duckling with bill injury

View attachment 1670699 Baby Mordred is doing better today. Her nostrils are holes again instead of slits and she is breathing through them.

Her top bill has not caught up to the bottom yet, but she is only 5 days old, so she still has a chance. It hasn't curled upward or gotten any worse.

Only things I did were rub coconut oil and vet rx on top of her bill and around her dried up slits of nostrils, put a little vet rx in the roof of her mouth, and gave her a deeper water dish.

Thank you, I do too! Still look pretty sore around her injury. I'm hoping it will smooth out when it heals and correct her underbite.

Update, baby is doing very well. The main concern, her closed nostrils and mouth breathing, have completely resolved. The secondary concern, her underbite, has greatly improved. Her top and bottom mandibles are about the same length now. The top just needs to be very slightly longer to close properly over the bottom instead of into the bottom.
