Duckling with 'slightly' splayed legs?

I am still new but believe Dumar chick starter would be the best feed for the first 8 weeks or so. I have no idea if it is available down there. No matter what you feed them brewers yeast for niacin is a good idea. However, I do not know how feeding the starter food to the hen would effect her.

Will not hurt any of the ducks to have starter actually good for mama duck after sitting for so long brooding. Another thing when a duck is brooding she really needs a good diet and before she starts to lay because her diet and the nutrients she takes in will be passed down to her eggs ( ducklings) so always feed them the best you can so you’ll have not only healthy adults but healthy ducklings.

How old are these Ducklings? It can take a few days for some to get the strength in their legs. Being you free range and they have access to forage and bugs the feed they are on is probably fine. Chick starter feed would be best too if it was provided along with the foraging. I raise Ducks and have never used niacin and have never had issues.

Many feedstores carry chick starter, which looks like the crumble pics in small bags, up to 50lb bags and some specifically for either chickens or other fowl.

Problem is not everyone has access to duck feed so we use chick starter and add some form of niacin. Having feed shipped isn’t cost effective. Also an all flock feed like Purina Flock Raiser is a good one it has appropriate amount of niacin for water fowl. A lot of members raise ducks and a lot never have issues with niacin def. but it sure doesn’t hurt to be ready in case something did show up in one of our ducklings so we could treat ASAP. I keep Nutritional yeast on hand here I use it too plus liquid B complex is another good one to have on hand. Poultry Nutri drench and Poly vi sol with out iron. Having a med chest for our birds is important. Giving our ducklings etc the best start is important whether we are keeping as pets or view them as live stock.

I would go with an all flock feed(crumble) and even tho that has most of the niacin in it, it will not hurt to supplement with brewers yeast. If you want to stay on the chicken feed I would still use niacin, but get some dumor chick starter. That is what I did and my ducks never had a problem. Having mama get some extra protein will be great too! So I think I gave you 2 options you just do what ever you feel is best! Good luck with those little duckies! Keep them out of trouble! Ok...here is an article that might be really helpful! Now..it is a handful and does not all have to be done, but is very helpful! I would read it so you can get a better idea on food/ supplements for ducks(some of the things might need to be done when you ducklings are older). https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/feed-and-supplements-for-ducks.74246/
