Ducklings about the hatch, help!

Yes for other eggs. They are staggered for due dates. The closest viable right now is due on the 24. I wish some of the earlier ones had made it, so that Nemo would have a playmate, but I am enjoying the extra bonding (not the sleep deprivation though).

Nemo continues to grow and thrive. Question, is there any "training" techniques for ducks? We have several play/cuddle sessions a day, where I lay down in his large crate with him. He has started pecking/pulling at my eye lids--ouch!!! Other than just not giving him access (he eventually cuddles up right under my chin/neck which I love), is there a gentle kind way of getting him to stop the eyelid pulling?

Eyelid pulling....... well, I think its kinda like puppies chewing on everything, playing the way they do. I'd say he will grow out of it. But of course, keeping him away from your eyes will be safer for you in the meantime.

Eyes are favorite targets for ducklings and chicks... just the shiny catches their eye... just have to wait it out for him to grow out of it and keep aware when he's near them...

So after I got over the shock and excitement of the 2nd baby popping out so quickly, I realized baby number three has pipped at the wrong end. She is peeping and breathing, but hasn't progressed all day. Do I wait like I did with Nemo, or is breach different?

Nemo has a sibling!!! The first of the next round hatched this morning and now Nemo's voice is changing, too!

It's different, but mostly that the time for waiting is usually doubled from external pip... because wrong enders do their internal pip and external pip at the same time, it seems like it's longer but you're actually waiting for the same amount of time... does that make sense?

It's like today was it's internal pip time, and in the morn starts the time from its external pip... just make sure its not gooey and has clear air... listen for distress sounds and watch for struggles... some can still zip just fine at the wrong end, but some get stuck... hang in there, you can do this! :thumbsup

Thanks so much. All of a sudden she started rocking and busted out within an hour! She resting and drying now. Pics soon.
