I think Kyexotics ment that the lady who stole the ducklings lied about doing that all the time.

If police were notified with a report of a theft of property/livestock and nothing was done it is time to contact the local media to let them know that that happened. Baby duck stories are one of those "awww" sort of stories that can pick up traction quickly.

I agree Ol' Mare, however, if the authorities could not establish that the ducks "belonged" to anyone, they would not be able press charges.

I don't think anyone is lying about this happening, I just think some valuable facts have not surfaced yet.

I believe she was told the HOA needs to claim them and file a report. They aren't anyones ducks though, just out on a community pond. At least that is what I gathered.

There is the root of the problem. If the ducks don't belong to someone, then the "authorities" are not going to get involved. Unfortunately.

Something is weird...IF she did this all the time, then either there have been groups of babies running around 'lost' at times, which doesn't seem to be the case as it wasn't mentioned, or it was a lie made up in the moment...I'll bet on the latter...It's strange behavior either way...

She lied because its been two weeks now and she didn't release them like she said she was going to do, she made this story up so she could have them for herself.
It is weird behavior and disturbing.
We are now going to report her to the city.
