tbitt asked what swap?
it's Sept 10th at the Stephenson County Fair grounds in Freeport, IL. Rochelle isn't too far from there...
They have 2 poultry and exotic animal swaps every year. One in the Spring and one in Fall. This spring they had so many critters to choose from I was overwhelmed. I got just 2 silkie chicks and that's where it all began.....

I did a google search for it since I knew it would be in Sept. Just not sure what date. I couldn't find an actual website for the fair grounds. I only found a blurb on someone's webpage. I have been to it before and have friends that sell their goats and chickens there. It's usually the first Sat. in May and Sat. after Labor Day in Sept. If you ever go, go early! People are there camping out over night and getting there like 5 in the morinng! I think the actual hours are usually 6 a.m. to noon. This Spring, I saw some baby doll mini sheep that were all black with blue eyes. I can't get them out of my head. I'm kicking myself for not getting them then....I'm hoping they will be there again next Spring.

There are usually all sorts of poultry, rabbits, goats, sheep, and supplies. Lot of fun to just go and look. There was also one guy with a really pretty peacock. It was all white with a blue head. never saw one like that before.

Ducks are addicting. I already have 4 mallards with 4 Welsh Harlequins coming the 17th (I can't wait

) I want some butterscotch calls and muscovies already!

When I'm older
