Due April 11th, anyone with me??? I hear peeping!

I candled last night and so far I took out 12 unfertiles and 1 early quitter. My 5 BLRW are going stong.

I had to pull out a bunch of eggs yesterday, mostly from 2 batches that had rough shipping and the dozen white javas that were infertile (seller refunded, wish the eggs were fertile instead). The others are having much lower occurance of clears, its looking like it will be a good hatch for them.

I have a batch due on the 8th, Australorp and Austalorp/Leghorn crosses, from a fellow on Craigslist. I have another batch with more Australorps and some Dominiques from MandyH here that are due on the 11th. There are 40 total. This is my first hatching project and I'm crossing my fingers!

So I am on day 15 and things are going great! Can't wait until Thursday! Lock down begins! I think my bantams are going to hatch early...they look more cramped in their shell than the bigger babies.

How is everyone else doing?

I am officially on lockdown. I have my fingers crossed that all goes well. Candling in brown eggs showed full eggs. I'm nervous but excited too for this batch due on Thursday.

My second batch will go on lockdown then. I removed 9 eggs from that batch today. I had 7 clear and 2 that quit, one was only day one or 2 and the other seems to be about day 5 (I could see brain, wing buds, leg buds, eyes).

Do you happen to know what I should do if the bantams hatched early? I know you have to NOT open the bator but if the others are due on Monday and the bantams hatch, lets say, on Friday...won't they need food by Tuesday accounting for any late hatchers?

Bec- Yep, they will need to eat. I left mine in for 2 days, and snatched them out of the incubator real quick. (hens even get of the nest during lockdown) You should be able to leave them in for 3 days though.
