Mine are due to begin on 4-10. I have clean and feather shank cuckoo marans in my bater and 2 hens on eggs which should hatch a few days later. I have 2 more hens on eggs due to hatch later this month and another hen was in the nest last night, making those telltale sounds. Spring has sprung!!
This is what some of the eggs look like. These are the clean shank. My feathered shank hens lay a shade lighter.
I have bantam auracana and mille fleur eggs due to hatch the 16th and 18th. Just sold my first hatch of silver laced wyandotte chicks, it is just way to quiet around here now! Just the sound of the fan in my incubator. lol Best of luck to everyone.
The little yellow one is the boss already, going around pecking everyone who isn't moving. There's going to be anarchy in there! The poor things just want to sleep. The boss is a leghorn/Australorp cross. Looks to be white with 3 black spots on it's back.
OMGosh!!! They are sooooo cute!!! I can't wait to get home and check on my humidity/temp. I am at my sons practice right now but all I can think abou it the bator!! LOL
Bec, The increased humidity is probably the cause for your lower temperature. Also, if you increased your air flow, that's probably allowing more heat to escape.
Don't fret too much about it. Adjust it S*L*O*W*L*Y! Also, if you increased your air flow, that's probably allowing more heat to escape.
