Because you love life. The two are inextricably intertwined. The "food as fuel" crowd is merely shooting for the end goal - which for all of us, is death. Albeit with a trim corpse. Enjoy everything around you, including food!

(disclaimer - this is what I tell myself. I'd rather taste everything than taste nothing and look "good". I may totally be lying to myself and now, by extension, you.)

I had a hen that bumped and jumped. She didn't lay very well but she could really crow loud. I guess that made up for the low egg production. In fact I don't believe she ever laid one. Oh well, she was one of my best looking hens ever.
