Yeah, and I'm 23 and we always had chores for allowance but maybe the newer kids coming up haven't. And most of the people at my school work full time and go to school full time, some even have kids. But it's also a community college so maybe that's why. I originally went to a 4 year school but then left after a year and a semester and ive taken lots of time off but my school was pretty nice, i just didn't like my major and was also having trouble. But that one was smaller and technically Catholic even though lots weren't haha but a lot of 4 year schools have become just party places haha especially the state ones. But I'm not entirely sure it's the major either, it's also the economy and student loan debt.. more people are living with parents now. But that's also the older "millennials" i suppose, the kids coming up, like i said, may well be more bratty.

But I think that has to do more with parenting honestly and also this new thing of not saying no to kids. And I honestly believe social media has played a huge role too. At least with my age the Internet was new and we didn't have all the gadgets so we still grew up kinda normal lol these kids everything is about the Internet. And they're on their phones, and have phones, from a much younger age now. I heard it's ruining communication and I agree because the kids all know "Internet speak" and no one really knows proper English any more and also the kids all text and tweet or FB each other or whatever even though they're right next to each other sometimes lol or will be playing their own games or reading other tweets etc. Rather than communicating with each other and that's ruined it too. People don't know how to do face to face or even phone communication anymore. It's all texting and social media. And on top of that, everything is about selfies lol

Another thing I read is that with the taking selfies thing and social media in general? people are legit becoming narcissistic. There are more narcissists now. I believe it's true.

And it's also SO EASY to get "famous" or go "viral" now and it's all the rage, whether it's on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Vine, SnapChat, YouNow/Periscope/other live video things, whatever, everyone wants to be, and can, be famous or go viral. And I think that gets to people's heads too.

Like I used to watch some YouNow people and one time one was at a convention or festival or whatever and some of them were so rude to each other. He was a little older but there was this like one 10 or 12 year old that was just a huge ******* and so cocky. Like there was legit drama on the thing at this festival cause these little kids think they're more famous than this other dude or that they're the ****. That's sad. And if I have kids, I would NEVER let them treat other people like that no matter how famous you get. Not sure I'd even let them get "famous" or do the festival/tour even but if I did, you NEVER treat someone like that. And not to mention, he's not even famous, it's just a dumb live video app and you're what? maybe kind of cute (I'd never seen that kid so idk) and can sing a little? Apparently so can everyone these days. It's not special.

I think that's where the narcissism comes into play too because these kids/teens get "famous" for being "hot" or borderline talented. And it's also sad to me because meanwhile other "real" musicians work their asses off and some never get a break.

That's not to say some of these kids don't work hard, some do or just use the app to get their name out there, but some just go by looks and think they're the **** lol

But anyway, I think it's far less their major or the government or any of that than it is terrible parenting and rampant social media use lol

Here's a thought, on the new fence. Hang some signs on it warning about poison ivy in the area. That should help to keep the riff-raff out of there.

Just got 8 new babies on Saturday to start a new mini-flock.(2 each of Easter Eggers, Buff Orpingtons, Golden Comets, and Black Sex Links ... didn't have any pretty/fancy ones, so I went for productive.) My older girls, only 5 of them left, are slowing down on egg production. I still get enough to take care of my own needs, but don't have many extras to sell, or bribe ... er, give away to ... neighbors. About the time the big girls begin to molt in the fall and cease laying for a few months, the new kids on the block should be getting cranked up. Perfect timing!!
