That statement fits me to a T. Every year when vacation time rolls around is very stressful for me. All of my family is 600+ miles away. I have to find someone to come in and take care my horse, my farm dog and my chickens. I have had some good folks that followed my instructions. And i have had some folks that thought their way was better than mine......... And my family can not understand why i am worried about everything at home, after all they are 'just' chickens......
My next door neighbor reluctantly leaves town to see an old friend who lives 6 hours away. I asked why she doesn't invite her friend to come here, instead? She said her friend refuses to drive distances, so my neighbor has to go there. I took this as valuable advice. Now, I tell people they have to come visit me because I don't drive long distances any more. People are always saying "I don't" do such and such these days, as in "I don't do windows", "I don't cook", "I don't eat backyard eggs". So, I've joined the trend. Why don't you? Who needs the stress. Just say, "My doctor told me to avoid stress so, with all my responsibilities at home, I don't go away overnight, anymore. It's just too stressful.". Let them come to you, instead.
