dun dun dun???

Hi Henk,
I just got these from a poultry judge in Utah. Not positive how he made them, didnt ask was just excited to get them. I would assume he crossed them over the oe's? If so, he definitely did his work on them to correct to type, because they are a perfect d'anver now. He has a few solid dun, and all the khaki patterns too in quail, but not enough to part with yet.
I do plan to breed the heck out of them this year ,so will post pics of the khakis I get out of them.
Been playing with your calculator as well with them and plan to use the over some of my other 16 colors of d'anver to try to get the dun in them as well. Stuff like the cuckoos and b.b. reds and such. I think they would look awesome with the dun in them.
I will keep everyone posted on my progress with them!

also do you have any pics you could post pls...
thanks

My birds have the dun gene, not choc. I am breeding it into silkie with chocolate (dun) polish. In the US it is in serama; I understand that Jerry Schexnayder has a lot of choc culls that he will sell for the cost of shipping. It is too wet and dark outside for new photos today (nearly a year's worth of rain in a couple of days is NOT fun), but I will try to remember to get some new pics when it clears up tomorrow or Sunday. Anyways, here are a couple of my crosses when they were half grown. They are both full grown now.

if you don't mind me asking where did you get the dun polish??? i wonder if it would be easier to out-cross to a polish to get the dun color in the LF or just breed up from bantams???

hmmm on second thought where they LF polish or bantams ??? lol

I traded with a friend a pair of silkies for a pair of young chocolate polish October 2008. She got her original chocolates from one of the polish breeders who has done a lot of work with chocolates--she told me the name, but I don't recall.

You might call the show secretary and ask if anyone has entered any chocolate, khaki or fawn birds for any breed of chicken (I assume you don;t want ducks, lol) and get contact information to make arrangements directly.

Good idea,
Brian Massingale usually is one of the orgasnisers of it, he always ask me to bring some of my stuff up to it, but with work and all, I just never have the time. His contact info is in the breeders/members section of the d'uccle breeders club website.
