Dust bath

So I decided to make the ladies a bath! Hopefully it will stop them from digging everywhere....

It won't.
That's a lot of birds for that size bath. They like to pile in against each other to bathe.
How many birds are in there? How big is that space?

8 birds, the bath is 32"x22". That section of the run is approximately 8'x12'

I have been thinking of doing that myself and had wondered if it might keep them from digging as much. I doubt it but may give it a try. My run is so sandy already, but they dig so deep. The other day when I was out there I think I heard someone speaking in Chinese.

Mine scratch and forage and then they dust.

If they make a hole in a place where I find a hole inconvenient (Popcorn goes under the fence instead of over it), I either stick a brick or a concrete block in it until they lose interest in that area or I cover whatever section of the pen that has started to look like the craters of the moon with a thick layer of litter.
