This is Stan a SLW rooster I had years ago. He never would dirt bathe with the hens, either embarrassed or too proud. Instead, he would slip away and find an obscure spot in the duff under the pines to indulge his guilty pleasures all by himself.

No, but there have been times where I've seen what looked like smoke and run around looking for a fire, and not find any. Finally it dawned on me that it was clouds of dust from chickens dirt bathing under the porch.

I always wondered if they were too busy on 'look out duty' to dust bathe.
My boys didn't/don't bathe as much as the hens,
but when they do I figure everything must be 'safe' so they relax and indulge.
Only my current cock will continue to bathe when I come into the run.

Some dust bathe every day, in the 'Under-Run'.

First flock 2013 when first let out of coop after two weeks, Mr. Rooster was showing them where.

2016 lots of deep holes out there.
