Dutch Hookbill Hatch!

The babies from the last batch are now sharing the coop with the juvenile Hookbills. I have to keep them separated for now as the drakes are chasing them around 😔

Finally I was able to order a pair of quality show Hookbill ducks from Holderread! I choose a Golden ducky her hatched on 2020 and Golden sepia drake hatched this year. They should be shipped on 11/16! I think I’m all set now! I will be posting pictures at that time. For now, here are some babies that I kept😉

Is that a harris farms incubater? How many ducklings did you end getting? I love having hookbills I have two a dusky bibbed drake and a golden sepia hen they are beautiful birds!

Yep, that's a Harris Farms!

The first batch, I hatched 12. They've turned out to be mostly drakes, lol, my luck. The second hatch for some reason went very poorly and I only got one duckling out, which I had to assist, and then it later passed.

Anyway, I've let my friend know I'd like more eggs in the spring so I can try for some more girls, haha. Seriously, ended up with a terrible ratio, ten drakes and two hens.
