Early February 2016 Hatch - Who's In?

Here are my four chicks so far:

400

400

400

I just want to snuggle them!

I was able to watch your video! It was awesome! Any action on the second egg now? It will probably get motivated by the chirping of the newborn chick. Congrats!
No action as of this morning but the other chick has certainly rolled it around enough! I am glad the broadcast worked- I got to record the first one hatching so my students can see on Monday. :) Little chick is all fluffed up now... trying to decide if I should take her out and put her in the brooder or stick with under my broody and see what happens!

How exciting! This is your barnyard mix, right?

Yes! These barnyard mixes are so hardy. First hatched and first feathered. Woke up to 4 more pips in the Ameraucana eggs. Two pipped on the bottom and one of those was on the wrong side. Yikes! Flipped them over super quick and misted so I didn't lose humidity. Both are breathing. Really want a nice little rooster from these Ameraucanas so HATCH CHICKIES, HATCH!

Pretty weird hoping for a roo, lol.

Haha, not weird at all after all this excitement! I could totally hatch eggs year-round now.... if only we had a rooster. We don't have any covenants against them in our subdivision but we are really "self conscious" neighbors and want to be seen and not heard. <sigh> We probably just need to buy a farm.

I am so happy for you! My last egg to hatch never gave me any signs - just woke up yesterday and there she (I hope) was

Give me 5 years... That's our goal in 5 years. We will try to save some of our $$ every tax refund, build up our credit and after our 5 year lease in the new house is up we hope to be able to find a nice little 10-20 acre area out in the country for my dream farm.
