Early guesses? 3 week old polish sexing

Back again! Everyone is loving the coop and run - humans included 😁

I got some shots of them today and I’m just getting more confused haha!

They are between 7 and 8 weeks. I have labeled the pictures where the birds in question may be shot from the side or front.

Rhubarb has a confusing crest, holding out hope she is still a pullet.

Thanks!❤️

@BastyPutt hi there!

I have some new photos of our Polish. They are about 10 weeks old now. We suspect Peaches, Pickles and Rhubarb could be cockerels. And Squash is staying strong as our pullet. Let me know your thoughts!

Also, everyone still seems to be getting along but when do you recommend separating or adding more pullets (depending on numbers) ?

Got some better pictures today. I was feeding them raspberries - that’s why they have red on their beaks!

Peaches - darker buff laced
Squash - white pullet
Rhubarb - lighter buff laced
Pickles - white cockerel

We are now almost completely positive that we have 3 boys and 1 girl.

@JedJackson do you agree?

Hello all. I hope to get some individual shots and combine them with the chick photos as a bit of a resource.. at least for seeing 3 roosters and 1 hen develop haha.

Though we don’t have eggs yet, it’s a done deal we have:

Pickles: cockerel (mixed but mostly white)
Peaches: cockerel (dark buff laced)
Rhubarb: cockerel (light buff/laced)
Squash: cockerel (white)

While everyone is still getting along together, we have begun work on our bachelor coop for rhubarb and peaches to move into when the time comes.

Thanks for everyone’s help as we got off the ground with our chicks❤️

Hey there!

Welcome to the polish life! There is no chicken breed on the face of the earth with a better temperament, or that is more social. We absolutely love our polishes here and it looks like you have some really nice birds there! Buff laced and white crested black are my favorites.

In terms of sexing, you are kind of in the dead zone - you need the crests to develop just a bit more. If I am able to see the birds in person and get some real close ups of crest shape and feathers, the odds of this go way up.

However, I will still take a shot here based on what I can see.

Peaches - cockerel (not certain)
Squash - cockerel (this one Id bet the farm on)
Pickles - pullet
Rhubarb - pullet (this one I am also pretty certain)

If you are able to get some more shots of peaches and pickles I maybe able to discern a little better.
Hey I'd love if I could send you photos of my two 10 week polish please? :)

Hi! I have 1 gold laced polish chick. It's 5 weeks old... any guesses?
