Early guesses on the gender of Sheldon and NB

With those better pics of the GL's comb, I'd say pullet. Very good quality bird too. But the largest SLW has cockerel lacing not hen. Lighter featheration appears as the bird matures, this one is still a young cockerel with the messy lacing and excessive black feathering. Hackle feathers are a big give away also, its hackle feathers are the thin pointed ones of a young rooster. And note the almost entirely black tail. Their is also a difference in comb size and brightness also. Lacing is not always a give away, I've seen young SL cockerels with beautiful lacing; it just depends on the birds genetics. Gorgeous birds @Farmgirl1878. :D

Thanks for all the great information, especially you Table4Six! 21hens, I’ve had the birds since mid-April and I’m guessing they were a week to ten days old when I picked them out of the bin. So probably seven or eight weeks. The smallest SLW and the SLW with the reddish rose comb and black tail might even be a week younger.

NB (above) is the big baby of the bunch. S/he cries every evening until s/he finally hops up on the roost and then snuggles with whoever is closest. Kind of a clutz, s/he was the last to hop up anywhere higher than her head, but likes to try to fly (eventually). Small comb, big feet, rounded hackle feathers, and a perpetually nasty butt, s/he also stands up to the bullies.

Sheldon is curious, fearless, stands up to most of the other juvenile delinquents, is a great flier, and loves to find the highest perch. S/he has a small comb and big feet, but rounded hackle feathers. Any guesses?
The first one is a pullet the second one is a rooster because the second one looks like he is growing some green feathers on his tail

Then they are to young for hackle feather development. I would wait a bit longer before saying boy or girl.

To me the feather color is simply to dark to be male at this point.
