Earth Day what will you be doing...

My Earth Day celebration is spread out over 5 days...


Planting 4 trees.

Installing a gravity fed irrigation system using rain water for my garden.

Start working to coordinate the local food community.

And all the normal stuff I do like grow my own vegetables, fruit, and meat. Took three days off from work just to work in the garden. Will buy some goats this weekend to start my meat goat project.

Watch the Oscar winning documentary film The Cove as well as Food Inc (for the 5th time).

I've got some fruit tree cultivars that I'll be dipping in rooting compound and planting today. We've planted at least two trees every year since we moved here and we usually do it on Earth day. Someday I will have a "tree'd" property. I also called the tractor guy to come clean out my horse pen and add the manure to the compost pile. I don't know if that really helps the Earth but it helps me grow my garden organically.
