Earthquake!

Ok then, what is the earthquake time period from 100 years ago to now?

I was watching the richter scale.

You can't "watch" a richter scale, it's a mathematical interpretation of release of seismic energy. You can watch a seismogram or seismograph, which is an uncalibrated measure of earth movement that has to be compared against others.

I was only typing what was reported.

i'm at my grandparents in dana point and we felt it. it was soo fun!!! my sister was getting scared it was funny. i was holding my bunny!!

It wasn't too scary but what was disconcerting was how long it went on. Right when I thought it was tapering off it got a lot stronger!! I had to grab the computer monitor to prevent it rocking out of it's stand at the end.

Anyway, I am glad we don't have earthquakes here. Or tornadoes. Way too scary

I was skimming the swimming pool and the water started jumping up and down. I thought it was the creepy crawly.

My cousin in Apache Junction who lived in Northridge when that quake hit said today she was at the computer and knew immediately she was feeling an earthquake 300 miles away!

The data says it was a 7.2 (higher than the previously reported 6.9) and there were a number of aftershocks (at least 3) over 5.0 including one in Imperial, CA.

They say it's not the San Andreas, but that kind of quake can destabalize other faults.

And I'm not a know it all either, although I sometimes play one on BYC.
