Down here in North Alabama, we live near a very large but dormant (for now) fault line. it once struck so hard that it made a major river run backwards for several days (the mississippi i think)

Felt nothing here in CT... not complaining at all

I felt it here too...our house is elevated 4' up to avoid flooding from hurricanes (thanks to Isabel in 2003). It felt like the whole house was going to come off its foundation! I thought it was a big wind gust until I saw no grass or trees moving. Very weird. I felt like I was on a small boat on a stormy sea.
