Oh boy I need to do this!!!
I love when normal people come up with Genius ideas!!!
depends on how often and how much your birdie poos. I've been changing it every 3-4 hours-ish. Mu duckie eats at night so doesn't poo as much during the day. Also depends on what you have to absorb stuff and how well it works. How often do they need to be changed?
So I made another one today, and I used a different brand. If anyone needs a bigger one, the brand I used was "Just One You made by Carter's" That's the name on the tag. I got them at Target. A little higher price, but came with 3 for $5.99. They have 2 snaps for adjustment, and are terry cloth on the inside. (I couldn't resist the pattern and tiny pompoms on the edge.) It worked out well. Also made a deeper pocket for someone needing to use a larger diaper inside.OK, so sewing and crafty I'm a whiz! But be gentle, I'm a tech failure. So my diagrams are basic. Let me know if you have more questions, I'll try to explain better.View attachment 1531853 View attachment 1531853 View attachment 1531854 View attachment 1531853 View attachment 1531854
Awesome for sure, but loud too LOL. 5 duckies all communicating in the house... That might be a little much for me. My hubby already laughs at how loud she gets when I leave the room. calls her squawk box. I can't picture 5 ducks LOL. But I'm glad I can help.I'm totally stealing this, speedy is getting sad because she's not allowed in the house. If I can make these for all five that be freaking awesome!!
Sorry sometimes pictures can make things appear so much different the real life. Makes perfect sense that it would just slide down her soft feathers and make it seem tighter then it was. You have done a great job!!!I tried to make it bigger, but it just slid down further and got tight lower. Looked like it was pulling on her wing area. I made it a tear drop shape so it made sort of a V-neck on her. I can actually get 2 fingers in the front by her throat. I think I'm gonna find a way to leave the clip on for the neck to make it easier to take off without brushing her feathers completely backwards.
Handsome crowbars
Thats exactly what it is! Thanks for pointing it out!
Wait.... That's the love I get in return? to be called normal and told I'm not a genius.
If you're in Walmart, the bibs are in a separate section from the ones with the chewy toys. I saw the ones with that hard piece and thought about it but thought it might be kind of heavy for where it is on the duck. In Target, they're all over the baby section by brand, so unorganized. I did put a diagram that I drew further back. It shows where to stitch. You just insert elastic into the trench, tack one side down, and pull it up from the other end so that it gathers. When it's the right size for your duck, you tack down that end, then zigzag stitch over the little slits where you inserted the elastic to keep it from unraveling.Oh yes, I do apologize for that insensitive comment. I shouldn’t have called you “normal”. Anyone who is crazy enough to make diapers for a duck is NOT normal.
I think we belong to a very special group of the INSANELY IN LOVE WITH OUR DUCKS GROUP
And we would do anything for them and to us it is completely normal and the ones who don’t understand are not normal. And yes you are a GENIUS. unfortunately I am NOT.
I still need step by step pictures. Sorry. The bibs I found have a rubber triangle attached?
