Easter Egger club!

Insanity, that is a beautiful EE! I have had my EEs for about 4 months now, and thought I only had 5 EEs, and 5 dark brown ?. There's one dark brown chicken That I assumed was the same breed as the other dark brown ones, even though it has a different feather pattern and comb. It wasn't until this morning that I gave this chicken a closer look and realized she is an EE! She has a pea comb and muffs, took me long enough to realize! I feel stupid now that I was under the impression that I had just 5 EEs, but then again, she is a shy chicken...

Just solid black. She lightens with every molt. Now she is about 50/50 black and white. This is her a few months ago with more black.
400
If she keeps it up she will be white eventually.

Ok so when I first got my EE's I was told the should start laying at about 18-20 wks old... They are 12 wks now. Now I'm reading that some aren't laying til anywhere from 25-30 wks old :(
I don't want to wait that long (pouty face).
My Red Star (20 wks) started laying yesterday. And my RIR (also 12 wks) should start laying (hopefully) within a month.

You might not have to wait that long. My EE's started within a couple of weeks from each other. First one at 22, the other at 24 weeks which really is a good average for hens to start laying. The production birds mature fast, start fast and usually do not last long with that production pace. The EEs give us nice seafoam green eggs. Since EE's are made up of many different breeds, you never know how long it will be. What color are your EE pullets so far?

They are pretty typical coloring. My avatar is one if my EE's Her name is Rizo
I have one like your avatar and she was the first to lay of my EE girls, around 23 weeks

This is my other EE and she was about 25 weeks with her first egg, both are very pretty green but not olive

We got our first two eggs from our mixed flock of EEs and Wyandottes a few weeks ago (about 23 weeks old now) but have seen nothing since. Is this because it's getting colder or should I be scouring the yard in search of eggs?

You will need 12-14 hours of daylight for good egg production.A cheap lamp timer works to turn the lights on and off.

They do start laying inconsistently when the temperature drops but if its been a few days since you've seen any, an egg hunt wouldn't hurt. I've found eggs in some interesting places. .
