Easter Egger club!

Hi All! I'm joining the club!

I just ordered 6 EE chicks due at the end of the month! I'm so excited to get them! My plan is to raise all six (supposedly pullets) but keep one or two to add to my flock. I have a huge backyard and am looking forward to more little ones running around. I can hardly wait to see their color variations also.

I did a search on Craigs list, and it looks like it's tough to get these as pullets in my area. If pullets are hand raised as pets, can they command a higher price? I'm sure mine will be healthy happy girls. I spoil my ladies.

My children names them:
Hawk eye
spider chick
hootie
blowfish

To those of you with new chicks, this is what you have to look forward to. Violet on the left lays blue-green eggs and Ivy on the right lays green-blue eggs. They always hang together like sisters and are just the sweetest, friendliest and fun pullets. They are 7 1/2 months old and started laying at the end of March. I usually get 6-7 eggs per week from each of them.

I love the names so many of you have come up with. My two are Isabella and Oscarito (both supposed to be pullets). They are 3 weeks now. Looking forward to seeing what they look like when they grow up.

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question. I know you cannot tell what coloration you will end up with an EE, but I was wondering this: If the chick is cream beige or white will it be mostly light colored when full grown, and will dark colored chicks be dark colored adults?

I'm LOVING some of those blue/gray/white types and wonder when I go pick them out if I can increase my chances?

Thank you!

These are my girls and boy at a few days old. The all cream one is tweety, the chipmunk colored one is the boy named sue, and the one with the little butt up in the air is jebs. She has some black spotting up her back and on her wings

This is jebs now

Who knows what color they will turn out to be. It's kinda like Christmas! But hope this helps!
