Well I like the breed and all but I have a limit of about 25 chickens and I need to get rid of some chickens to get some other breeds. I will keep a couple of EE pullets just not all of them.

I can understand that. I thought maybe you did not like the breed or found a problem with them.

No they are a wonderful breed. The only problem I have with them is they take a long time to start laying.

Look what I got for Christmas!! My first egg!! I can't beleive it was from one of my EEs, I have 5 SLW, I thought they would be first since EEs usually take longer... They are all 24 weeks last Tuesday.

Next to a store bought white egg so you can see the color

No they are a wonderful breed. The only problem I have with them is they take a long time to start laying.

mine have certainly taken their time. but i've read posts where some lay as early as 5 to 6 months.

I have had a few that have laid that young as well, but my pullets so far this year have been taking their time. The warm spell we've gone into may help with that though.

1 out of a blue egg appears to be feathering in white looking at wing feathers, cute cheeky & feathered legs too hoping to look a little lie mom, looking at wing feathers appears to be a girl
This other gal cheeky & beard, out of a brown egg we are hoping for a nice green egg
