Just saw this! Replies are showing up in weird order on my mobile. I've heard that younger will always yield to older. So combining flocks of hens, the lead hen of the older group will put the younger head hen in her place and then the others just fall in line below. But maybe you might have more dominant younger females push to out rank less dominant older hens? Usually it is accomplished with just some well placed harmless pecks and they sort themselves out. I have seen a newly introduced rooster just do a display where he jumped on all the hens heads to show he was in charge, but that didn't long and then he strutted and was a perfect gentleman taking care of the new girls.
The age difference is 3months to 7month age differences I have young and older in one coop but want to merge them into my oldest coop because I'm going to build a new coop and use this one for my jungle fowl.
