I crossed a red sex-link roo with a blue egg laying EE. And two hatched out both hens. One layed olive eggs, and one supposedly lays blue eggs but I think the owner is thinking blue green.
What color are they?

the chickens? One was white with maybe a little red on her chest, the other was pure red like a RIR.What color are they?
Not unless you know parentage.so I guess my new girls I got from a farmer yesterday were not "true" to the breeds he said but it's ok b/c we just wanted some nice personality hens for our small backyard coop & my research showed that ameraucunas & Orpingtons were friendly & docile! We were told by the farmer they were all hatched Aug-Sept.2014 & this girl was a Buff Orpington but you guys here said she's more likely an ameraucuna/Brahma. Her name is Sunshine & she is the biggest girl in our coop. This is Cream (Left) & Speckles (my fav. looking girl) they are both pretty close in size Cream does have a bit more slender & longer neck though.
the dark girl in the front is Luna & she is 2nd biggest
this is Speckles by herself
Cream & Luna's back, I love the blue & black of Luna
& this little one is Fluffy (she is for sure the smallest!)
cuddling in the corner (or maybe just hiding the farthest from me, I did just bring them home yesterday!)
Is there a way to guess what color eggs these girls will lay?
I was so tickled because I figured she would hold off until spring! It must be a "laying" kind of day threes...one of my EE's decided she was going to start today too!Pictures to follow!
Can sister pullets lay different colored eggs?
That's why we love em'.Yes . EE have a diverse gene pool . They are like a box of chocolates .
I got mine at the beginning to June, they started laying in December. A good 6 months seems to be the average for most chickens. So at about what age do they start laying?
