Male golden comets are all white w/ a few small patches of red. Girls are all red with white on their back ends, sometimes some all over, but still mostly red. Some have a lot of white, some have barely any.

Here is Abajah. He came sexed from the hatchery. First photo is a couple of days old (leg band was the sex identification) and the other two are at 4 weeks. Notice the pinkish tint to some of his feathers. I'm really curious as to what he will look like when he matures. Anyone have one like him that's grown?

Thanks I didn't know that about Comets. I only have the 2. They are so super friendly. They are almost in the way of the chores lol I was thinking Levy was a boy because today the pack of roos attacked her. I took her and put her back in the coop with food and water with Halley. And my only Buff orphington is missing. She didn't come in to roost.
I left my chicken tractor open hoping she will come home. But I don't think she will she was always alone. Maybe something got her or she took off to the farm next door lol

Can someone please explain to me about the light orange (sherbert color) EE's and the color pattern to distinguish gender? Also, dumb question I'm sure but what does partridge color/pattern look like? And can you feather sex EE's when they are about 2-3 days old? I tried it for the first time on this hatch and I think that out of my 4 EE's that I thought for SURE were all pullets, in fact two are looking very roo like at only 2.5 wks old. Thanks!

I am planning on posting pics in a few weeks as it seems that I should wait until they all feather out first to get a good look at what their coloring will be like.
