Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Thank you both so much!  I was convinced that Mabelene especially, was a boy because of the beginnings of some darker orange blotchy feathering on her wings around her sides, and I sometimes see her either trying to crow, or clearing her throat.  she stretches her neck a little and opens her mouth...no sound comes out but it was suspicious to me. So far I have not seen Ivy do this maneuver and she was the main one I was concerned about.  She has been my fav since day 1...(which also worried me a bit since it's usually the favs that end up being roos)

She is yawning, lol. When I first saw my birds do it, I freaked and called the vet. While laughing his butt off, he explained the situation to me, lol

Well, there is only the one picture of May-be-Lena / May-be-Lenny ;) But there is orange and there is rusty/mahogany red. All the pictures I've seen here that said "these blotches mean boy" were rusty/mahogany red. One of my girls is Orange (and a beautiful bird if I do brag so myself ;) ) But she went from "chipmunk" to mostly solid. Harder to pick out the "is it a 'bad red' patch or just more adult feather coloring coming in?" on a bird with patterned feathers like yours. Bruce
looks like a puller to me.

OMgoodness...why didn't I think of that!? It does look like a yawn but when I saw it, well, I instantly thought "cock-a-doodle-Dooooo." I am feeling rather ridiculous right now. LOL

OK I have to join in! I am thinking these two are pullets. I think they are around 8-10 weeks old. What does everyone else think?

They look like pullets to me, but I am really bad at sexing EE's until they are a little older. I had on that I was SURE was a pullet until he started showing red patches on his shoulders at about 14 weeks.
