Easter Pet Purchases Already starting.. SO Sad

I have already seen and responded to many Easter Pet posts on CL as well as my Warning Post... I just wish folks would realize that it is a terrible idea... I have a rescue from last Easter ( who is a major pain in the butt) and am sure I'll end up with more this year... Sorry just had to rant

I will stick my head in the sand, avoid craig's list and other ads, because it gives me a frustrated and sad feeling too...

I was one of the few children that when I got a pet for Easter, I never lost interest in it. I was just so thankful for getting something so wonderful because as a child, I never got neat stuff like other kids got and besides that, I was totally into ducks and chickens, and bunnies! I still have to pet rabbits now, grown up person that I am and they live in my house, litter pan trained and I also trained them to not chew on things. I would love to have more room to be able to rescue.

this drives me crazy, we sell rabbits/chicks all year long, so if you see my ad in march april please dont assume its an easter purchase ad

Both of our pet bunnies were dropped off at the shelter post-easter. They're fixed, which is great for a pet bun, and they live together well.

Our evil bunny was an "Easter" purchase made by my parents for my then 1 year old

And no, they didn't even ask...just bought it for her. 2 years later and I'm still spoiling the little devil.

The whole selling bunnies and chicks at Easter is terrible, though..IMO anyway. I can't even imagine the neglect some of those animals go through after the new wears off
