Just had a run in with a coyote. It was in my backyard, just a little bit before I was going to let the gang out to free range. It wasn't even a little bit afraid of me. I had to shoot it with a BB gun to get it to leave. Everyone's in lock down, now...

Oh lord what area do you live in? We are on Watts Bar Lake and out here they are not scared of anything! Deer aren't either!

I live in the city of Norris. Lots of houses and people around. Luckily the coop held. One of my girls has a torn comb from throwing herself into the hardwire cloth, but other than that they're find. I'm a shaking mess.

I'm in Seymour and saw one in my back yard last year. Luckily, it was more scared of me than I was of it....

Glad your peeps are okay!

Just met "Poultry Hollow" in Knoxville to pick up my 6 Gold Laced Wyans that are 7 weeks old. They look to be in really good shape and healthy, time will tell though. The rep. seemed knowledgeable and only brought out what was pre-ordered (versus trying to bring out several hundred and selling them out of parking lot). So far I am impressed and will order from them if I need anything else. They are pretty far out there, but have been making a run to Knoxville several times a year for preorders out of East Tn.
Camera is broke.....one of these days I'll replace it and get some pics up.

That coyote would have been dead here. We shoot to kill for they are vermin and dangerous. Glad to hear chickens are fine.

I'm inside city limits, so I can't fire a gun. My husband has an air soft that would kill it, I just couldn't get to it quick enough. I'm going to be waiting for it if it comes back tonight... if I can get past the nerves...

ALL coyotes, coons, possums, ext. around here get the same treatment. A hide full of lead or an aluminum shaft with a turkey broadhead. Could you shoot a bow? If so it would be a good way to keep them safe...

It took me four tries to hit it with a BB gun! I was so freaked out I was shooting without even sighting. I can imagine what I would do with a bow. I would probably ending launching myself at the stupid thing.

I wondered how it would go today for ya. We are still building our coop. But we plan on going to their farm. When we get a chance and get what we want. Wonder when they will be back up here..?
