Funny you said that..I just put together a small one today (incubator) but made it different this time with everything mounted to a metal plate. I can take the whole thing out and pop it into a bigger cooler in about 10 minutes that way.

I may set eggs tomorrow eve for a test run. Delaware over glw, nhr, or del. It will be a mystery hatch, lol

Cool! I'm making my husband make me an incubator, 7 eggs just won't cut it....

we're already brainstorming getting a hold of a cabinet, we already have a water hearter thermostat...

Shipping is outrageous but they're still way less than what I found on other sites.

what did the shipping run?

I paid almost sixty in shipping for three nesting boxes. DH told me when they arrived that he could build the same thing and then set out to prove it the next day. (He does heating and air and has the sheet metal tools). He's not added the perches but said that he could sell them for seventy five for a four-hole set. If anyone is interested in a set, just let me know. He said he could build a six-hole set, too.

Oh, didn't know your hubby was into metal... you think he'd be able to make rabbit trays for underneath my cages? I was having trouble figuring out what I'd do after I build me some cages... DH doesn't know how he'd do it, has nothing to bend metal...

Light colored should be a blue splash, other large one is a Blue Maran x Black Star mix and teeny tiny is bantam chochin x silkie. I think the black star mix will do well. My stars are never affected by anything...they lay regardless of the weather. (Sure hope I have not just jynxed myself!

) And they are all for sale.

I have such a staggered incubator right now.......

So far 6 different dates. I know someone was talking about stressing over the temps and humidity...so..this may help. I kept my temp at 99....humidity was between 25-48. When it would get down to around 25 I would just pour some more water in. I left the plug out of the top. I had forgotten to date the eggs so I did not know for sure when they where going to hatch. So....all of these hatched in the incubator. When I saw they pipped I turned off the turner and as soon as the chick was almost popped out I would move it to the incubator I use as a brooder the first couple days. So...now I see all my fretting and such last year just made it harder. I decided not to worry so much about them and so far has worked great. All hatched out clean and perky.

Anyone else have eggs cooking??

well hopefully i successfully re paired my pretty homers together today finally (as long as i can keep them from seeing their odd self chosen mates). now if i can re pair my sub bi male mixed performer, to my tumbler/roller and fantail, which plans to separate are under way, but curious to try the poliga mating setup. woman i gave my dutch bunny pair to, already has some people lined up for buying babies for pets/show.. go figure, i guess im not a good marketer. right after someone tried giving me a sealpoint siamease doe netherland dwarf, which i had to decline, but petted constantly till left, with its tiny fluffiness twitching and wanting to try to hop out the box after my dog.

I'm one of the people who probably worry my eggs to death, literally. I hope some of your good hatching vibes rub off on me.
