Good news! I ordered nice, pretty nesting boxes for my coop... Bad news! I'm pretty sure my gals aren't going to be able to squeeze their booties into these things.

For normal-chicken-size people it's a great deal. Half off the original price because they're factory seconds. The site said there'd be hole mismatches and missing pieces but the one I assembled was perfect.

We're getting there. I really want DS to prepare for the bunny himself by buying a cage or building one. He's still saving his money and is getting closer.

Jazzy has either gotten a lot bigger or has relaxed and doesn't sit in a tiny hump anymore. I can't decide. I think she might even be ready for her litter box now. WOOT! Walking a 10-year-old through the cage cleaning ritual every Saturday is no picnic. I'll be glad when it's just a matter of cleaning out a litter box.

who says pullets born in the summer won't start laying in winter? huh? well if you do, prepare to be wrong! my BLRW pullet just became a hen today, she layed her first tiny light brown egg!!!!
I also bred my REW doe Nella today, will go pick her up tomorrow from my friends house... will start collecting the little brown eggs to incubate

now I wish I had a huge incubator to do a bunch of staggard hatches!!!

Funny you said that..I just put together a small one today (incubator) but made it different this time with everything mounted to a metal plate. I can take the whole thing out and pop it into a bigger cooler in about 10 minutes that way.

I may set eggs tomorrow eve for a test run. Delaware over glw, nhr, or del. It will be a mystery hatch, lol
