It's not plastic, it's metal... here's a link to it... I plan on having a small colony of 3 in one cage, so not sure how I'd build one they wouldn't eat...

Have you looked at plans to build one? That might be a slightly cheaper and more customized alternative. When we brought Chichi home the people had her in a plastic bottom cage and she was eating it but all is well now. Putting a chinchilla in a plastic cage is like putting a sugar glider in a cage with sliding doors, they will get out sooner or later unless you tie the doors lol.

I had to look into this one further as ive never heard of something eating those down to the bare minimum. This article on garden and plant pests I found one of the most helpful http://www.moscowfood.coop/archive/pet_control.html . I think I have a group of birds sitting around my garden waiting for me to plant the seeds every year lol. This year will be attemping to raise those atlantic giant pumpkins too.

I looked around online and someone said rabbits eat marigolds, but even more people said it's a type of non native slug that will eat them down to a nub in one night. I got some painted daisy seeds and will try those. I read that it repels harlequin bugs if you plant onions, garlic, turnups and potatos in between. Well I had all those last year and that didn't work at all.
Oh if you have problems with birds, let me send you some harlequins then, birds won't even go near any plants that have them on them

just to tell chinchillas are not hypo allergenic, as rescues that get over run will tell you. not to disuade anyone as they seem they could be awsome pets, just seem to do best with air purifiers, dehumidifiers in humid areas, and acceptance dust will be in air everywere (dont buy the cheap sold kinds or sands, as theyll get sick from it and so will you), they can get fleas, and hair loss sores, and death can result from them, aside from getting mites and lice. on the other hand seen some chinchillas that just had wire bottomed rabbit cage, pellets, veggies, hay or straw even, and lived for ten twenty years. they make a spray to clean them too, but never really looked into it or them much, other than adorable, and supposedly not able to be held due to fragility and your oils possibly poisioning them, but seen them as small childrens pets and not have hair fall out, or any injuries even from being dropped, so maybe just breeding.. anyone wants to know reality of an animal, ask a long ten to twenty year established and recognised rescue, NOT a breeder of any sort, or pet owner looking to sell or give them away. on the dogs, sadly sometimes you need to shoot the dogs to stop worse from happening later, but you could throw a slip lead on and then keep or give away or to rescue or pound etc. remember with pets, possession is nine tenths the law and if they dont contain, and the animal is in your yard, you can do whatever with it (hopefully something nice for it if possible).

Tnchick... you cannot fight the POWER of the duck side. Search your feelings, you want ducks.

Non native slugs you say? If only there was some animal that couldn't get enough slugs to eat. And if it would only eat japanese beetles too... and maybe this animal would lay eggs through the cold winter when the chickens stop...

There are some bugs that don't like deep mulch. Deep straw mulch also pulls in wolf spiders by the hundreds.
