@fowlsessed
(love your signature btw)

Here are the semi-annual / annual American Poultry shows for 2012. Most of us don't attend these but sure would like too, LOL. I know "wegotchickens" and her hubby have attended a few and I remember they were in Indianapolis last year (they change up some of the locations from year to year) Next time they do it in Indianapolis though I will try to go as my family is from there and I can visit.

I can't imagine how you feel! I guess we all can't be too careful about biosecurity!

Thanks for the help guys, but now I feel my problem is nowhere near as bad as Daphnes is...

Ohhhh. Wait.

That pullet was indeed egg bound. Darn it. I have so many at different age groups now that I did not notice she started and then stopped laying. She was a blue egg layer and since I have several of those it slipped right by me.

There is a lesson. When your pullets first start to lay, try to keep a close eye on them the first month. If they dont lay at least a couple a week check them and see if they are swollen from being egg bound. If you see it let the group know and we can advise on how to treat.

So sorry to hear about your chickens. I have been wondering if I should vaccinate the chicks when I get them or not. After reading your post I will be, and I will know what to look for as well.

The good thing is u can use most of these things with other species! Most chicken products can be used on rabbits... oh I updated my website all bunnies have photos finally... husband took photos so not the best angles but love him anyway.

sorry tennesseeckn, that's terrible! Please send me info on where to get the vaccine--never have heard about this in all the reading I've done in the last year on chickens.
