I have to be careful what I say outloud - I read your post to Tommy over the phone about BOSS. He came home with some. I have no idea what to do with it. I don't own a coffee grounder.

And I have only lived in this area about a year and a half. I'm not too cool with the mention of Eastern King Snake!!!!! WHAT?????? If I ever open my coop and found a snake, I would probably shoot every chicken we own trying to kill that snake.

You really don't HAVE to grind it. Even my little bantams eat them, shells and all. Just toss them on the ground and they will find every last sliver.

Black Oil Sunflower Seed.

I buy it in the big 25lb bag at tsc and toss out just a little with their scratch. It probably makes up about 1/4 of their scratch. I have in the past taken my coffee grinder out there and chopped it up rough to top dress their feed with (especially from November to February) when they can use the fat boost

Why do you think you can hear Daphne's hens plop in the nest box from miles away, LOL

Shhhhh! You're giving away my secret!

There's a major disadvantage to big-butt girls, I discovered. A couple of weeks ago I built three salad bars for my runs. Today I noticed that the orp bar is sagging in the middle! I must have stapled the hardware cloth a hundred times put it just couldn't handle the weight. The other ones are just fine.

I'll have to take pictures. They are the handy-dandiest things.

Well its a sad day around here. I had my pair of peafowl in a 10x10 kennel since April. Well sometime last night something must have scared the female so bad she evidently got out. ( I can see where something tried to chew through the chainlink) and was dead in the front yard. Geez just when you think they are safe.

Aww. That's so sad. Poor girl. Poor YOU!

@hobby sorry for your loss

@ Contrast congratz! Awesome pix and Happy Anniversary/Birthday

Question....

Has anyone every used one of these? ( I know, its a bad picture. Sorry) The model number is YZ7-9 & its suppose to be the 2012 model.

I was given one and after setting it up....it says it's totally automatic. How does it turn the eggs? I have yet to see it move anything nor can I figure out it could. It came with one sheet of paper to tell you it is pre-set to temp and it needs water in a tiny little pan every other day. I got on ASK.com and someone said it is supposed to turn them, but she didn't say "HOW".

So again, how does it do it? Any suggestions or experience with this model? A teacher gave it to me and its never been used. So if it works, I would love to use it. It holds 7 eggs and for us beginners, that is a great number.

Thanks!

If I had to guess..the whole tray either spins extremely slowly or turns once every few hours, and that would turn the eggs. The only thing I know about these are that they come from mainland China

Eastern Kings look very menacing but are great to have around. We have a lot of black rat snakes around this area also...but they can be a little aggressive. I'll take the eastern kings any time. I actually look for them to come back every spring.

here is a good pic of a young one
